The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports human remains were found inside a burning building Monday morning.
The remains were discovered as firefighters worked inside the apartment building in Milltown shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The first crews arriving on the scene reported the roof was “gone” and the building was fully engulfed.
No other injuries were reported.
