Happy Spring! Here is a little update from Manitowoc Public Libary! Make sure you read this entire article for some fun information and a contest listing at the end!
Have you taken a look at our new website, including our new logo? It is amazing and interactive in great new weighs!!
- We have so many things to share! Are you aware we now allow pets in the library? The more the marrier! You will just need to keep them away from our new Nacho Fountain. No pets allowed to munch on nachos,
- Among other things, we will be featuring tattoo artists once a month—for all ages!
- Not for all ages will be our fire-eating classes. Sorry, their only for 18-year olds and older?
- Remember our dunk tank at the summer carvinal in years past? Well, look out near the bathrooms! You will just have to wait for this surprise!
- You can currently check out 75 items on a regular library card. Reading material checks out for 3 weeks, except for Lucky Day items. DVDs check out for one week, accept for Lucky Day DVDs-you can have 3 of them for 3 days only. Music CDs are unlimited-up to 75 if that is all you check out.
- We are readying drones to drop off books at your home. But if they’re hardcovers, I would advise standing clear while they are delivered.
- Were you able to visit our library for “Flair in the Air”? Watch for our pop-up Circus Mornings. Learn to do amazing acrobatics in-the-air, hanging by your teeth or hair from a skinny piece of rope, suspended 35-feet in the air. Can you even think of anything more fun?!
- Just a reminder of fun ecksperienses that start at your library—remember we have Adventure Passes available year-round. Stop at our Service Desk to see what’s available and visit a local attraction you’ve not visited before!
Changes are coming for our staff also!
- You may notice staff occasionally seated in chairs around the library, wearing “Do Not Disturb” signs. Staff will be encouraged to just take an extra hour, hear or their, to sit and read. Since we promote reading and sharing of books, this will be a part of our work day. So many of us are thrilled about this!
- Our staff is also thrilled with our new dress code. Pajamas are now allowed as part of our dress code! Be as comfy as you want all the time—and it makes for a better work day overall.
Have you read all of this article? If not, y knot? You may have noticed some very unusual possible additions to our library, and maybe a poorly written and spelled article.
Well . . . HAPPY APRIL FOOLS’ DAY!

We will know the total of the errors in our article. The entry with the closest number to our Error Total—within 5 errors—without going over (AKA “The Price Is Right” rules) will win!
