You may have noticed several of the usually green utility boxes around Manitowoc are adorned with beautiful works of art.
That was done through a program put on by the City of Manitowoc and the Rahr-West Art Museum, and now they want to do more of them.
Amateur and professional artists are encouraged to apply by April 22nd, as well as artist teams and educational institutions.
Five different designs, inspired by artwork held within the permanent collection of the Rahr-West Art Museum, will be selected for five utility boxes in downtown Manitowoc.
Five additional boxes at public schools will be painted with designs based on the Museum’s collection that correspond with the needs of the schools.
This project is funded by the City of Manitowoc.
The Request for Proposal and application can be found on the Rahr-West Art Museum’s website.
