The Chilton Police Department has released more details surrounding the deaths of two individuals in January.
According to Chief of Police Craig Plehn, the names of the deceased individuals were 78-year-old Judith Mastrocola and 54-year-old Matthew Moore.
Chief Plehn explained that the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office was responsible for conducting the autopsies of Mastrocola and Moore, and they determined that both died from a single gunshot wound.
He went on to say “Based on the physical evidence and witness interviews it has been determined that Matthew Moore shot and killed his mother, Judith Mastrocola, and then shot and killed himself.”
The DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation aided in the investigation along with Calumet County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Fond du Lac Police Department, Calumet County Medical Examiner’s Office, Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Calumet County District Attorney’s Office.
