An employee at the Manitowoc Taco Bell location has been arrested for stealing money from the register.
An officer with the Manitowoc Police Department was called to the restaurant just before 7:00 p.m. last Thursday to investigate the claim.
The manager showed the officer security camera footage that showed the 24-year-old female employee taking some money from the register, setting it on the counter, and placing it in her pocket.
The woman told the officer that the money she took was a tip from a customer who paid with a $50 bill, but no such currency was found in the register.
The woman was believed to have also stolen money several other times and was already out on bail for two previous theft cases, one of which was an armed robbery in 2020.
The suspect was arrested on charges of Theft of less than $2,500, and two counts of Bail Jumping, one Misdemeanor one Felony.
