James J. Danielson, 81, of Baileys Harbor, WI. died peacefully at home on Thursday February 17th, 2022.
Jim was born March 29, 1940, in Manitowoc, son of the late James N. and Ann S. Stanul Danielson. He grew up in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1958. On August 29, 1964 he married Patricia Ann Barbeau at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1966 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education. Jim began his career in Manufacturing at Allis Chalmers in West Allis in 1966. In 1972 he became Plant Manager at Star Manufacturing in Carpentersville, Illinois. He returned to Allis Chalmers in Appleton in 1976 as Production Superintendent and later became Manager of Sales Administration for Svedala and Stephens Adamson retiring after 30 years. Upon retirement, he and Pat moved to his beloved Door County home. He loved watching the freighters go by and photographing the scenery and the Cana Island Lighthouse. Jim had many interests and especially enjoyed following NASCAR and the local dirt track racing circuit. Over the years he traveled to many races all over the country. Jim enjoyed taking his vintage Corvette out for a ride or to meet with the “Car Guys” to talk “shop”. He kept a Daily Journal and wrote letters every week to his kids and grandkids giving them advice on how to live their lives and love their Country. He cherished their visits. He will be remembered as a loyal friend.
Jim is the beloved husband of Pat for 57 years, much loved father of Scott (Felice) of Plantsville, Ct.
and Susan (Jason Dercks) of Combined Locks, grandfather to James and Olivia Danielson and Lane and Ava Dercks. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Jane Kellerman, brother-in-law, Dave Barbeau (Sharon), sister-in-law, Marianne (Tom Haag), brother-in-law, Tom Barbeau (Jean), as well as many dear cousins, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ann Danielson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Virginia Barbeau, brothers-in-law, Darryl Brixius and Bob Kellerman.
Jim’s life will be honored with a memorial service on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at 12 p.m., which would have been his 82nd birthday, at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Jim will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to Autism Speaks or The Diabetes Association.
