Eight citizens were rescued from a piece of floating ice on the Bay of Green Bay last evening.
The Little River Fire Department was informed of the situation at around 6:45 p.m. and sent help to the area near North Bay Shore County Park.
They found a total of eight people standing on top of a chunk of ice and were able to rescue one with a small boat.
The ice had then drifted too far away from shore for that method to work, so the U.S. Coast Guard was called into action.
The remaining seven individuals were safely brought back to shore with no injuries reported.
By the time the second set of boats had arrived, the ice was roughly a mile and a half away from the shoreline.
