Insiders are defending the Packers front office after it traded away the best wide receiver in the NFL.
The word is that Davante Adams wanted out and he wanted to be traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Some onlookers thought the prolific Adams demanded a trade after it became obvious he would be franchise tagged.
The reality is, he had asked for the trade long before that, and team officials knew he wanted out.
Although the Packers’ final contract offer was about the same as the Raiders’, it included less guaranteed money.
Moving on to Las Vegas pairs Adams with his former college teammate and close friend, quarterback Derek Carr.
