Two people were arrested in Manitowoc yesterday during what was termed a “high-risk traffic stop”.
According to police reports, an officer ran the license plate of a vehicle that drove by and learned that the license plate was stolen.
The officer pulled the vehicle over on South 18th Street near Columbus Street, and a man exited the vehicle from the passenger side.
The 44-year-old man ignored the officer’s orders to stay put and entered a home in the 1800 block of Columbus.
Numerous additional officers arrived on the scene as the arresting officer ordered the driver of the vehicle to exit with her hands in the air.
She cooperated with police, and a search of her purse uncovered Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
A separate officer went to the residence the passenger entered, and both individuals were taken into custody.
The 50-year-old woman was charged with Possession of THC, Methamphetamine, and Drug Paraphernalia, while the man was charged with Obstructing an Officer.
