Voters in Wisconsin can begin casting absentee ballots for candidates in the April 5th spring election.
Manitowoc City Clerk Mackenzie Reed-Kadow tells Seehafer News that absentee ballots can be turned in through April 1st.
“Folks wishing to vote that way can come in to City Hall with their acceptable photo ID,“ she explained. “They come up to the window, state their name and address like they would at the polling place on election day, receive your ballot, and vote right here in City Hall…Then they leave their ballot in a sealed envelope, which will be counted on Election Day.”
Reed-Kadow added people can also still request an absentee ballot to be mailed to them.
“Probably the easiest way to do that is to visit myvote.wi.gov,” the City Clerk explained. “Every day our office sends out those requests that we received that day.”
The April 5th races usually include nonpartisan contests for county judges, county boards, and school boards.
Meanwhile, there’ll be no unmanned drop boxes in larger cities this time around, following last month’s State Supreme Court ruling.
