The ice jam on the Sheboygan River has broken, meaning the flooding has subsided several days ahead of projections.
The National Weather Service initially projected the flooding would continue through Friday, but that is no longer the case.
The clogging of ice near Esslingen Park combined with some rainfall combined to have the river peak at 9 feet higher than its normal level.
Thankfully, nature took its course, and the jam broke up well ahead of when it was expected, which led to the river levels dipping four feet in as many hours.
