A man convicted in the grisly deaths of his parents has filed an appeal.
Chandler Halderson had 20 days from sentencing to start the appeal process by filing the notice of intent, and online court records show that was done on Friday.
The filing came just a day after Dane County Judge John Hyland sentenced Halderson to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Halderson was found guilty in January of numerous charges in connection to the 2021 murders and dismemberment of his parents, Valders natives Bart and Kritsta Halderson, a crime for which prosecutors said Chandler Halderson never showed remorse.
