Gerald “Jerry” P. Kukoski, 72, of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his home under the care of Holy Family Memorial Hospice.
He was born on March 28, 1949 in Manitowoc to the late Stephen and Lucille (O’Neil) Kukoski Sr. Jerry graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967. His career spanned many years working at Mirro Aluminum, Dow Canvas, and retiring from LDI Industries. He also tended bar at the Meadow Links Sports Complex for 30+ years. Jerry married Susan Fictum in Manitowoc on September 24, 1983. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed playing softball. Jerry served as president of the Manitowoc Bowling Association for several years and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2009.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Susie; daughter, Kim (Dick) Behnke of Manitowoc; two grandsons, Travis (Anna) Behnke of Kenai, Alaska and Dylan Behnke of Manitowoc; sister, Mary Ann (Dennis) Musial of Manitowoc; father-in-law, Fran Fictum of Manitowoc; brother-in-law, Scott (Julie) Fictum of Two Rivers; sister-in-law, Karen Fictum of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephew, cousins, and friends; and his favorite dog, Libby, fondly called “Pretty Pretty.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Lucille (O’Neil) Kukoski Sr.; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Barb Kukoski Jr.; mother-in-law, Evie Fictum; brother-in-law, Steve Fictum; grandparents, Sophia and Cashmire Kukoski and Eliza and Raymond O’Neil; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
