
A ten-week half-marathon training program will be offered in Manitowoc beginning April 6 and ending June 11.
Holy Family Memorial Wellness Center, Froedtert Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin and Fleet Feet Fox Valley issued a Thursday release announcing the program.
Participation is encouraged for those training for their half marathon as well as avid marathon runners. The aim is to help runners remain motivated.
The program will be a coach-led group. In addition to detailed training plans, the program incorporates educational components, speakers, weekly email communication, expert coaching, mentoring and pacing to help inspire and motivate runners along the journey.
The target race for the training program is the 2022 Maritime Marathon Half-Marathon on June 12 in Manitowoc.
The training schedule includes two group runs each week:
- Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m., from the HFM Wellness Center, 1650 S. 41st Street, Manitowoc
- Saturdays at 7:00 a.m., from the Manty Pier (lighthouse parking lot), 495 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc
