The man awaiting trial in the death of his 7-year-old Newton boy in 2018 had his bail amount reduced recently.
According to WLUK-TV, Timothy Hauschultz was being held on a $100,000 cash bond, but that was reduced to $75,000 on Wednesday.
He has been in jail for the past three years as he awaits his trial.
That has been put on hold as the prosecution plans to call Timothy’s son, Damian Hauschultz to the stand. Damian was found guilty in his case but is currently in the process of appealing his conviction.
This means that he would not be able to testify in his father’s case until his appeal is complete.
Timothy and Damian were arrested after they allegedly forced 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz to carry a 44-pound log around their backyard, and buried him in the snow before he died.
As of now, Damian, who reportedly was the one enforcing the punishment, is serving a 20-year sentence, pending the results of his appeal.
