Students at Sturgeon Bay High School stepped up to help the first responders that took care of the Butch’s Bar fire last month the best way they knew how.
The students are a part of a special education class and have been learning how to cook.
Their teacher, Shannon Fahey says that they had been making a meal for themselves every Friday, but when news broke about the fire, they decided to make a meal for the firefighters, EMS, and police on the scene.
The meal consisted of pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, salads, cookies, and brownies, which they delivered.
We all can learn from this act of kindness. Instead of thinking about how you can fix the big picture, start with something small that you can contribute.
While these students did not extinguish the fire, or aid any of the victims using first aid, they did supply sustenance and energy to those who were working long hours doing just that.
