A Manitowoc man was arrested last evening after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend and was uncooperative with police.
Officers were sent to the victim’s home in the 1100 block of South 11th Street at 5:30 p.m. on a report of a man attempting to enter the residence.
The woman told police that her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend had been calling and texting her all day, threatening to kill her.
When the officers approached the suspect, he reportedly began to walk away, ignoring commands to stay.
He did eventually turn around, but instead of speaking with the police, he began to approach the home.
Backup help arrived in time to take the man into custody, but not before he tried to pull away.
While he was getting his fingerprints and mugshots taken, the suspect reportedly told the officer, “I will make your partner disappear.”
When asked if that was a threat, the man said “It is.”
The man was charged with Threat to Law Enforcement, Obstructing an Officer, Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
