The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the two people responsible for a series of thefts from mailboxes.
Last week we reported that the culprits had been pulling up to mailboxes stationed along the side of the road and taking the mail.
The Sheriff’s Department says that a deputy pulled over a vehicle being driven by 32-year-old Danika A. Viasana on March 9th near the Town of Buchanan.
Inside the vehicle, deputies found hundreds of pieces of mail, including passports, tax documents, packages, and personal checks, as well as some methamphetamine.
A follow-up search warrant was issued for a hotel room Viasana and 36-year-old Carl James Breneman were staying, which uncovered several hundred more pieces of mail, and more drugs.
Viasana, who also has open cases in Calumet, Outagamie, and Brown Counties, is facing charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Bail Jumping.
Breneman was arrested on a probation hold.
Additional charges are likely coming as the Sheriff’s Office works with the US Postal Inspector’s Office.
