The repair work on Sturgeon Bay’s Michigan Street bridge is now complete, and it is back open.
Crews closed the bridge on February 28th so they could fix a few things that were damaged last fall.
A vehicle had slammed into the braces on the bridge in early October causing minor damage to some of the structural supports.
Inspectors determined that the bridge was not in danger, so traffic flowed as normal.
Crews decided to close the bridge last month to repair the overhead structures on the lift span.
Work was completed two days ahead of schedule, much to the delight of motorists in the Door County City.
