Residents of Outagamie County are finding their mailboxes rather empty recently.
According to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, many residents have reported their mail being stolen.
The thieves reportedly pull up to the mailboxes stationed along the side of the road, take any mail inside, whether incoming or outgoing and do so at all hours of the day.
This problem has been going on for about six weeks, with several people becoming the victims of identity theft.
For the time being, residents are being advised to use U.S. Postal Service boxes instead of their home mailboxes.
Anyone with any information about the thefts is encouraged to call Sargent John Schuette at 920-832-2188, or you can send an email to John.Schuette@Outagamie.org.
