A Wisconsin lawmaker says she and a family member were caught in the middle of a drive-by shooting last month.
State Representative Sylvia Ortiz-Velez of Milwaukee says the incident happened on the same day a funeral was held for her three-year-old nephew.
Gideon Simos has died in a house fire.
Ortiz-Velez says it’s lucky no one was injured when the shots were fired outside her house on February 4th.
She says she and the mother of her nephews were bringing dinner home for the family when the shooting started.
