A 31-year-old man was reportedly stabbed at a Manitowoc bar on Sunday morning leading to a search and arrest, according to a report from Manitowoc Police.
By the time Manitowoc police officers arrived on the scene of Digger Dave’s Bar at 2:25 a.m., emergency services were already treating the victim of the reported stabbing. He was sitting on a barstool before being transported to Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.
The victim told police that he and 25-year-old Joshua S. Martinez had an argument a little before 2:00 a.m. The victim accused Martinez of being “creepy” and raping one of his friends.
Tensions reportedly remained high as Martinez allegedly went in for what seemed like a hug of the victim before walking away. The victim looked down a few seconds later and realized that blood was dripping down and that he had been stabbed.
Aurora released the victim after he received treatment and police took his shorts, socks, belt and shoes to be transported to the police department to be tagged with a biohazard sticker.
Martinez was arrested on Sunday afternoon and faces a charge of first degree recklessly endangering safety. He is being held on $10,000 bail with conditions that he have no contact with the victim or Digger Dave’s.
