Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman wants all staff members to wear bulletproof vests while they are at district stations.
The department is ramping up security at the seven stations after a Friday shooting at District 5. No one was injured except shooting suspect Darreon Parker-Bell.
Police say the bullets passed through a clear partition and came within inches of one officer’s head.
Temporary security measures are in place while the department searches for a long-term solution.
