Several reports indicate quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are talking about a new contract.
NFL Network has updated the situation saying a deal is being worked on in case the M.V.P. decides to return.
Ian Rapoport says it would be a short-term contract and it would make Rodgers the highest-paid player in the NFL.
The team is already struggling to fit all of its contracts under the league’s salary cap.
Teams have until next Tuesday to use the franchise tag on players like Davante Adams and Green Bay has to be under the salary cap by March 16th.
