The post-season is often referred to as the “second season” and that is because what happened throughout the year doesn’t matter.
Anyone can beat anyone on any given day.
That is likely what the coaching staff for the UW Green Bay men’s basketball team is telling their players today as they begin their Horizon League Tournament play.
The Phoenix ended the regular season with a disappointing record of 5-24 (4-16 in league).
It won’t matter if they can pick up a win against Detroit Mercy in the opening round of the tournament at 6:00 this evening.
The Phoenix did beat the Titans 70-63 back in January, so it is possible.
The women have a first-round bye, thanks to their No. 3 Seed, and will be playing on Thursday at the Kress Center.
