In lieu of payment at the door last night, those attending the Manitowoc Lincoln vs. Hortonville high school basketball game were able to get in free if they brought along some food items.
Teacher Alyssa Chally is an advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Lincoln High and she tells us the idea was suggested by Athletic Director Dave Steavpack.
She explained that there are roughly 45 students who have been nominated by their teams and coaches to basically oversee and serve as student leaders of our entire athletic department.
“[Steavpack] called upon us to do some collections for the rescheduled game,” she told Seehafer News. “Our executive board of students is helping out and we’re getting a great turnout of (food) donations.”
The food donations are going to Peter’s Pantry to help those less fortunate in our community.
