Snowfall is impacting area roads and the cities of Manitowoc and Two Rivers are asking drivers to act accordingly.
A general plow of all Manitowoc city streets will be taking place Thursday. Residents are asked to remove vehicles from the streets and seek alternative off-street parking.
Also, when following a plow truck on the road, drivers are advised to stay 75 feet behind the truck. When the trucks are plowing or salting, they are more prone to back up frequently. They also back up frequently, so leave room to react accordingly.
11:36 a.m. Update: Both the cities of Manitowoc and Two Rivers are enforcing a parking ban on city streets overnight entering Friday morning, from 1:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.
The aim is to allow snow ploys to be out in the early morning hours on Friday to clear streets before morning traffic picks up. Parking will be barred on salt routes, including bus and truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways and County Trunks within each city’s jurisdiction
Drivers are advised to seek alternative parking on non-restricted streets. The fine for violating a parking ban is $50.00.
