The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office says a man suspected of drug trafficking tried to jump out of a second-story window and get away when a SWAT team showed up Monday.
Authorities had determined Lawrence Lavergne – known as “Gizmo” – was staying at the Stoney Creek Hotel in Rothschild.
Lavergne suffered minor injuries in his fall from the second floor, so he was first taken to a hospital before being transferred to the Marathon County Jail.
When his hotel room was searched deputies say they found 267 grams of meth, some drug paraphernalia, and more than $7,300 in cash.
