The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble has announced the winner of the 2022 Wesley Teply Community Service Award in the Arts.
William M. Hansen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UW-Green Bay and his teaching certification from UW-Madison in speech and theatre.
He worked for the Manitowoc Public School District, primarily at Lincoln High School, for thirty-three years as a speech and theatre teacher, international baccalaureate theatre instructor, theatre director, and technical theatre director/stage manager.
Bill fostered partnerships with the American Players Theatre in Spring Green and the Kohler Art Center.
The partnerships brought American Players Theatre workshops to Manitowoc as well as fall tours to Spring Green and Kohler Art Center performances to Lincoln High School.
The award will be presented at the Saturday, March 5 “Winds of March” concert at the Capitol Civic Centre in downtown Manitowoc.
