Meadow Lanes North in Manitowoc was humming with activity Sunday. It was the annual Strike Out Breast Cancer Fundraiser.
Ann Hornes, one of the co-directors of the event, tells Seehafer News that the Red 9-Pin Bowling Tournament had two shifts of bowlers.
“This is our 15th annual fundraiser and we’ve gone up in the money raised almost every year. Last year was our highest year and we raised a little over $11,000, so hoping to maximize that again this year.”
Hornes explains where the proceeds go.
“This year we have four local individuals that are fighting their own battles with cancer. And, so the majority of the money will be split between them, and then we also have some other local places like Angel On My Shoulder, Pink Heals because they help us out with donations as well.”
Organizers of Strike Out Breast Cancer raffled off over 65 themed baskets, all donated by, what Ann Hornes called “this wonderful community.”
