The Oconto County district attorney has asked Sheriff Todd Skarban to re-open the investigation into student searches at Suring High School.
The sheriff says he wants to meet with District Attorney Edward Burke to find out what he would be looking for.
Criminal charges haven’t been filed based on accusations that some students were asked to strip down to their underwear as school officials were searching for vaping devices.
Civil rights attorney Jeff Scott Olson says he has been asked to represent some of the students.
Olson says he is confident he will be able to show that the searches violated the Fourth Amendment.
