Some areas in northwestern Wisconsin could be buried under 20 inches of snow by the time the current winter storm passes through.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for that part of the state Monday.
Meteorologists are saying the snowfall could last through Wednesday morning.
The lake effect could mean up to two feet or more of snow to Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, and Iron counties.
Farther south in Wisconsin residents are dealing with a mix of sleet and freezing rain that is expected to last all day.
