Instead of building a meatpacking plant in the Milwaukee suburbs, Strauss Brands has decided to sell the land.
A lawsuit had been filed to stop the $73-million project.
The Franklin Plan Commission held a public hearing last week to discuss the situation but a statement from the company was read before it started.
Strauss said it was evaluating other ways to expand its production capacity and was planning to sell the land in Franklin.
