The Sheboygan and Fox Rivers have been included in a massive Great Lakes cleanup and restoration effort.
The $1 billion project was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and was announced last week by the EPA and Biden Administration.
The project will address 22 different areas of concern from numerous states around the Great Lakes, including the Sheboygan River, the Fox River, and the Milwaukee Estuary.
While the ecological effects are quite obvious, it is also estimated that for every dollar invested into Great Lakes restoration, the surrounding communities would see an economic increase of around $3.35.
You can learn more about the project, and see every area of concern that will be addressed by visiting the EPA website.
