A Milwaukee police officer has been fined for his role in a 2020 incident while he was off-duty.
Matthew Willmann apologized for his actions in court Thursday. He had pleaded guilty last November to two counts of disorderly conduct. He was with his wife at a downtown bar when protesters marched by chanting negative phrases about the police.
Willmann’s wife threw her cup of beer at the protesters and he interceded aggressively when they responded. One woman says she suffered a concussion and emotional distress. Willmann has kept his job, but he was suspended for 45 days.
