A man had to be rescued from the ice on the Fox River yesterday morning.
The De Pere Fire Rescue team was called to the river in the area of the Claude Allouez Bridge just before 7:00 a.m. to find the man submerged under the ice.
Crews were able to pull the man from the water using a boat and about 500 feet of rope.
They immediately began administering life-saving measures and took him to a local hospital.
It’s not known why the man was on the ice, or how long he was in the water, but it is estimated that he was submerged for about 15 minutes.
The man’s condition is not known at this time.
