Authorities in Iowa County report a man fell through the ice on Kendall Lake Thursday morning and died in the cold.
The sheriff’s office was notified at about 6:45 a.m.
The incident happened near State Highway 80-133 between Avoca and Muscoda.
A deputy was told 70-year-old James McCann was able to get out of the water but he succumbed to the cold.
Investigators say they don’t suspect foul play in the fatal accident.
