A woman is facing charges after she reportedly attempted to steal cosmetics from the Manitowoc Meijer Store.
The Manitowoc Police Department was informed of the theft in progress at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
An officer arrived to find one person in custody of the loss prevention team, and another exiting the building.
The officer detained the second woman, but she was let go without being charged.
The officer watched surveillance footage which showed the 23-year-old Sheboygan woman concealing over $300 worth of merchandise from the cosmetics section in her purse.
She admitted to the officer that she was stealing the items to support her drug habit and that she was planning on exchanging the items for heroin.
The woman was out on bail for a previous drug charge in Ozaukee County and has been charged with Felony Bail Jumping and Misdemeanor Retail Theft.
