The Packers will play tag with one of the two best wide receivers in the N-F-L.
Sometime between next Tuesday and March 8th, Green Bay figures to use the franchise tag to keep Davante Adams on the 53-man roster for at least one more season.
That would boost his pay to a little over $20 million a year but failing to do it means he would leave as a free agent, and all the Packers would get is a third-round draft pick.
Over the past two seasons, Adams has caught 238 passes for 2,937 yards and 29 touchdowns.
He is 29 years old and in the prime of his career.
