Winning the National League pennant could wind up being very expensive for the Milwaukee Brewers this season if there is a season.
The team’s president of baseball operations, David Stearns, is widely respected as a top executive.
Apparently, his contract with the Milwaukee team includes a clause that means Stearns becomes a free agent if the Brewers win the N-L title.
If Milwaukee doesn’t make it to the World Series his deal keeps him with the Brewers through the 2023 season.
Stearns is given credit for building the team that has played in the postseason for the last four years.
