After months of discussions and arguments being heard from both sides, the Green Bay Area Public School District has voted to make mask optional at the end of the month.
The change would go into effect on Monday, February 28th.
The Board had previously stated that they would make masks optional once Brown County’s rolling seven-day case rate was at or below 100 per 100,000 people for seven straight days.
The latest report on the DHS website shows that Brown County’s rolling average is at 86 cases and has been below 100 since the February 11th report.
The District could go back to making masks mandatory if the case rate were to increase.
