A Dane County deputy who shot at a suspect accused of attacking her lost her job a month later.
30-year-old Deputy Sara Bortz-Rodriguez was fired on November 17th.
She had reported firing the shot after she said she’d been attacked by a man who was using an edged weapon in Festge County Park.
The report of her termination wasn’t released until Monday.
Findings from an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice will be forwarded from the Division of Criminal Investigation to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges should be filed.
