The Phoenix improved their record to 14-5 on the season with a 53-39 win over Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
The Phoenix jumped out to a 20-8 lead in the 1st quarter and cruised to the easy win.
It was a balanced attack that did it for UW Green Bay, and Hailey Oskey and Appleton North alum Sydney Levy each scored 10 points.
The Phoenix defense also played a major role, as they won the turnover and steal battles.
The Titans turned the ball over a whopping 24 times, compared to UW Green Bay’s 9, while the Phoenix stole the ball 8 more times.
UW Green Bay looks to make it 9 in a row on Thursday when the University of Illinois Chicago invades the Kress Center.
The Phoenix dominated UIC last time the two teams met in Chicago, winning 75-38.
Meanwhile, the on-court struggles continue for the UW Green Bay men, as they fall to UW Milwaukee 54-44.
This is the 8th loss in a row for the Phoenix.
The game started well for the Phoenix, as they held a 22-17 lead at the break, but a 37-point second half for the Panthers was too much for UWGB.
The Phoenix were led by freshman Cade Meyer, who scored 18 points, and Sophomore Nate Jenkins, who added 15.
The Phoenix’s leading scorers, Kamari McGee and Emmanuel Ansong, had off nights.
McGee accounted for 6 points, and Ansong only made one free throw despite each of them accounting for over 30 minutes of playtime.
The Phoenix will try to end the season on a high note, as they are back in action on Friday.
With only four games left in the season, UWGB will take on Purdue Fort Wayne at the Kress Center.
