United Way Manitowoc County is joining forces with United Ways across the country in celebrating 211 Day.
This celebration lands on February 11th each year to help provide awareness of the 211 phone number, which helps citizens get free access to resources for basic needs and human services.
Locally in 2021, there were 1,426 calls, texts, and chats to 211 made by Manitowoc County residents.
Over half of local callers sought assistance with Healthcare & COVID-19 resources.
In addition, 372 residents were seeking affordable housing and emergency shelter.
Other top needs in 2021 were mental health and addiction resources, utility assistance, and government and legal assistance.
The United Way is asking for residents to celebrate 211 day by donating to their organization so they can continue to help those in need.
You can help them reach their $8,500 goal by donating at UnitedWayManitowocCounty.org/donate.
