Milwaukee police report the city’s 28 homicides recorded so far this year are double the number seen at this time in 2021.
The report follows a violent 13-hour period in Wisconsin’s largest city.
Three people were killed. Milwaukee Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson talked about anti-violence efforts Wednesday during a walk through a neighborhood where six people were killed last month.
Johnson said it will take people working together in partnerships to have an impact on the violent incidents.
