The Green Bay Packers made an effort to ensure local pride sticks with three Olympians with Wisconsin ties who are competing in Beijing.
Paul Schommer, Deedra Irwin and Clare Egan are all competitors on the U.S. Biathlon team. Schommer is from Kimberly and Irwin is from Pulaski. The trio celebrated the care package by wearing their custom Packers jerseys, taking to social media to display their excitement.
The proud team noted on Twitter that they “played a little football in the village today,” complete with a #GoPackGo mention to end the post.
The @packers sent personalized jerseys to our three Wisconsin-rooted Olympians — @BiathleteEgan, @pschommer_ & @deedrablu — so we played a little football in the village today!
Think they'll let us compete in these jerseys in the Olympics this week?!? #GoPackGo pic.twitter.com/pst65xtv42

While the team was not allowed to wear their green-and-gold jerseys during competition, Irwin managed to meet a 7th place finish in the 15-kilometer individual event. That marked the highest finish ever for an American at an Olympic biathlon event.
The U.S. Biathlon team finished 7th in the mixed relay over the weekend, marking the highest mixed relay biathlon finish in U.S. Olympic history.
