The UW Green Bay Women’s Basketball team battled hard with Youngstown State last night and eked out a win in double overtime, 70-69.
The evenly matched teams ended each quarter within two points of each other, but the Phoenix looked to be done in the second extra frame.
They went down by five, but a 6-0 run sparked by a Hailey Oskey jumper sealed the win.
Oskey ended the game with 14 points to lead the Phoenix’s balanced offense.
Luxemburg-Casco grad Cassie Schlitz added 13, while Appleton North alum Sydney Levy drained two threes en route to her 12 points, and Bailey Butler accounted for 10 points.
The women are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Robert Morris at the Kress Center.
The men meanwhile will try to get back on the winning track tonight as they travel to Ohio to take on Cleveland State.
