Former Wisconsin women’s hockey team standout Brianna Decker will miss the rest of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Decker won the gold medal as part of Team U-S-A in 2018.
She suffered a significant injury in the opening minutes of Thursday’s game against Finland and was taken off the ice on a stretcher.
This was her third Olympics.
The 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award winner also competed in 2014 with the silver-medalist Team U-S-A.
Thursday’s game was being played in Beijing even before the opening ceremonies which were held early this morning.
