Scammers will do anything to get you to give them your money, including pretending to be a doctor.
The latest organization to be impersonated is the Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.
The hospital revealed recently that they had been told by several people that they had gotten phone calls from someone claiming to be with the Medical Center asking for personal information.
Hospitals around the country have also been used as the “reputable source” of scam calls.
The Door County Medical Center stated that the only reason they would call a patient is to discuss an upcoming appointment or to schedule one.
If you receive a call from someone asking for personal information, it is always a good idea to hang up, and call the hospital, business, or organization they claim to be a part of.
