Members of the Greenfield High School basketball team were wearing T-shirts reading “My name is not boy” before Tuesday’s game.
A parent had the shirts printed after a lunchroom confrontation between 17-year-old Omar Surveyor and the school’s athletic director last week.
Surveyor says A-D Trent Lower called him “boy” three times.
Parents say this isn’t the first case of racism inside the school’s athletic program.
The players wore the T-shirts in protest.
The principal has apologized but the athletic director hasn’t.
School officials say the head basketball coach has resigned.
